Rudyard Kipling Signed Book: Departmental Ditties and Ballads and Barrack Room Ballads in Original Red Leather Gilt Decorated Binding 1912 Signed by Rudyard Kipling ~ Very Rare
The First Edition is proud to present this very rare Rudyard Kipling signed book, Departmental Ditties and Ballads and Barrack Room Ballads which comes in the original red leather and gilt decorated binding. This rare book, published by Doubleday, Page & Company [New York, USA] is signed by Rudyard Kipling to the clearly to the Title Page.
The original leather binging is in Poor condition with marks and creases to the leather; and with losses to the top and bottom of the spine, which has caused the binding to become fragile and the contents a little shaken.
There are 217 numbered pages which are in overall Very Good condition. However, there are chips/losses to the plain red front free endpaper; similar (but slightly less wear) to the Half Title Page, thereafter improving dramatically in condition. The top of the Half Title Page is printed “The Pocket Kipling” in a stylised font. The Title Page has a feint rubber stamp for an owner “A.J. Lewis” and there is a small mark to the right of the page. Rudyard Kipling has crossed out his printed name on the Title Page and signed underneath clearly in black ink.

This is an incredibly rare and desirable Rudyard Kipling signed book with a great Rudyard Kipling autograph, in a deluxe red leather binding, that will need attention.
