Rudyard Kipling Book Set: From Sea To Sea and Other Sketches: Letters of Travel ~ 2 Volume First Edition Books 1900
The First Edition has for sale this collectable Rudyard Kipling two volume book set,
From Sea to Sea and Other Sketches: Letters of Travel, which was published by Macmillan
and Co., Limited [London] in 1900.
In Volume 1 there is an impassioned Preface by Rudyard Kipling which reads:
“In these two volumes I have got together the bulk of the special correspondence
and occasional articles written by me for the Civil and Military Gazette and the
Pioneer between 1887-
The original publisher’s red boards are in overall Very Good condition with bright red boards and gilt emblems to the centre of both front boards, slight knocking and wear present (to the spine ends and edges)
Volume One has 497 printed pages with 2 pages of a catalogue containing the works of Rudyard Kipling and Rolf Boldrewood. All pages are top edge gilt. The contents page shows that this volume has two main sections by Rudyard Kipling: Letters of Marque and From Sea to Sea. The pages are in Very Good to Near Fine condition with light age toning to the plain white endpapers.
Volume Two has 438 printed pages with two page catalogue same as Volume One. Again, the pages are top edge gilt and are in Very Good to Near Fine condition, again with light age toning to the plain white endpapers. The main contents of volume two are:

The Smith Administration
Additionally, this set comes with an advertising insert, printed in red, from Macmillan entitled: ‘Notable Novels’, which is in Fine condition. We have inserted this to the back of Volume 1
